The Public Schools in Seattle Couldn't Teach Math and Science 20 Years Ago, Killer Flu or No Killer Flu

Hey We're Rated Number 35 in the World on Public School Performance Before Killer Flu...its Always Been This Way. Now Lift That Warm Mug of Coffee on This Freezing Morning and Read the Brief: "... Coronavirus in schools: State 'missing a huge opportunity' At least 110 Washington children or adults have contracted the virus through school outbreaks, but there may be many more cases. We don't know, because neither the federal government nor the state is publicly logging that. This leaves everyone missing chances to learn how to control the virus. And parents can't get a clear idea of how safe the schools are, or how much learning is being lost. Nationwide, though, researchers do know kids are falling behind in math. In Seattle, free tutoring and enrichment programs are available, but you have to know where to look. (Photo: Pete Caster for The Seattle Times)..." SWE's Take: We don't have a plan to fix it soon. My suggestion is do what I did, help get 'em their diploma online and have them retake 9th grade algebra face to face at a community college with real math professors. Good News: Laptops were $129 on Black Friday. Get one for the kids' schooling.
